Summation
Releases WebBlaze and CaseVault,
Web-Based Litigation Tools for Tackling EDD
San Francisco,
CA – June 9, 2004 – Summation
Legal Technologies, Inc. proudly announces the release of WebBlaze
Version 2 and CaseVault Version 3 with tools for tackling electronic
evidence. The official bi-coastal launch of these products kicked
off on June 9th simultaneously in New York at the Warwick Hotel
and Los Angeles at LegalTech West.
At any time, from anywhere in the world,
WebBlaze or CaseVault litigation team members can instantly search
and retrieve case
transcripts, documents, notes, and now with these latest versions,
electronic evidence over the Internet via Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Firms can host case evidence using Summation WebBlaze, or use Summation’s
ASP, CaseVault, to host it for them.
Both WebBlaze V2 and CaseVault V3 manage e-mail
and the attachments. Users are able to search for and view an e-mail
along with any attachments,
and vice-versa. Search results can be expanded to include family
summaries, parents or attachments, related to the found item. Both
products support Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes e-mail archives.
Moreover, these new versions of WebBlaze and CaseVault also manage
electronic documents in common native and image file formats. Native
electronic documents are indexed for searching without the necessity
of the intermediate file conversion step frequently required by
other programs. Using the new eDocs feature, customers can save
money on image-conversion costs by using native electronic files
instead of TIFFs or PDFs. Customers can then choose which files,
if any, they want converted to TIFF or PDF for redaction, production,
and presentation. Microsoft Office type documents such as Word
and Excel, as well as Adobe PDF and HTML, are just some of the
native file types supported.
Additional features in WebBlaze V2 and
CaseVault V3 include the ability to tag documents for production
and accept “Briefcase” sub-collections
of documents from iBlaze, Summation’s premier windows-based
application. Multiple document collections stored in Summation,
MS Access, and MS SQL databases are also accessible via the WebBlaze
interface.
“These versions of WebBlaze and CaseVault
empower litigators to easily and effectively handle electronic
evidence, in tandem
with all case evidence, from just about anywhere in the world,”
said Jon Sigerman, President of Summation Legal Technologies, Inc.
and AV-Rated attorney. “Whether on the road or collaborating
across multiple offices, secure access to case information is instantly
available with just a browser and Internet connection. Plus, WebBlaze
and CaseVault are an excellent way to share information with expert
witnesses or outside counsel, who may not have a litigation software
program on their desktop.”
