& Summation Announce Tighter Integration between Litigation
Support and Trial Presentation Packages
New integration permits licensees
with TrialDirector® Suite 3.0 and Summation Blaze® LG
products to search transcripts and simultaneously view text and
video deposition, among other features.
Gilbert,
Ariz. and San Francisco, Calif. - December 4, 2001 - inData
Corporation, publisher of leading trial preparation and presentation
software, has announced the release of the TrialDirector Suite,
version 3.0. This new version of TrialDirector integrates tightly
with the Summation Blaze LG Family of products from Summation
Legal Technologies, Inc., publisher of America's most popular
litigation support software. With the new level of integration,
users of the two applications can:
- Open
up TrialDirector Suite modules (DepositionDirector, DocumentDirector
and TrialDirector) from within Summation
- Review
synchronized video depositions in DepositionDirector while searching
and reviewing a transcript in Summation, and automatically make
video clips of corresponding highlighted testimony
- Easily
exchange image information from one program to the other, maintaining
all document integrity and image table data
- Launch
TrialDirector while conducting searches in Summation, so documentary
evidence can be presented on the fly (during cross-examination,
for example)
"Summation
and inData have long been recognized by the litigation community
as best of breed solutions in the lit support and trial presentation
categories," said Brent Sandstrom, chief executive officer
of inData Corporation. "By seamlessly integrating our TrialDirector
Suite with Summation iBlaze, we give litigators a faster, easier
and more comprehensive way of preparing compelling cases and presenting
evidence with maximum impact."
"Something
that I had long coveted for trial preparation," said Jon
Sigerman, an AV rated litigator and president of Summation Legal
Technologies, "was the capacity to use Summation's ultra-powerful
global search capability to search for testimony and exhibits
needed for trial, navigate via the Summation full-text deposition
view to the corresponding video deposition segment in a trial
presentation program, and designate the testimony selected for
clipping in a Summation annotation. From there, I wanted to be
able to navigate back to the Summation global search results that
yielded the key deposition segments, cherry pick all or some of
the documents uncovered in the search, and batch send their images
into a multi-media enabled trial exhibit folder. With the release
of the Summation Blaze LG family version 1.1a, and the magnificent
application of Summation's scripting object model by inData in
their new product release, I can do all of the above, and more,
with Summation operations that are regularly used in all phases
of the litigation and second nature to me (as well as, a multitude
of other Summation users)."
In
addition to the integration with Summation Blaze LG products,
the TrialDirector Suite 3.0 includes over 100 new features, including
a PowerPoint Plug-in that allows users to incorporate TrialDirector
data (including film clips) within PowerPoint slides; Cross Transcript
Searching & Transcript Mini-Script printing within the DepositionDirector
module; 3D object Support; Shockwave Flash Support, and all new
user interface and dialogs. For a comprehensive list of features,
