Summation
Announces New Links to Third Party Vendors
Scripting
component enables Summation products to integrate
with other leading litigation applications.
New
York, New York - February 4, 2002 - At Summation, we are committed
to giving our customers all the functionality they demand, from
early discovery through trial presentation. Summation's scripting
component (available in all Summation Blaze® LG products)
makes it possible for third party products to integrate with Summation
LG software. Several companies - including inData, Verdict Systems,
CaseSoft, and IPRO have recently created links to Summation Blaze
LG. Links are also in current development with SER Solutions (knowledge
management systems) and Legal Files (case and office management
applications).
Below, we've outlined some of the functionality these links provide:
Link to Trial Director and DepoDirector from inData
With the release of TrialDirector Suite 3.0, users of the two
applications can:
- Open
up TrialDirector Suite modules (DepositionDirector, DocumentDirector
and TrialDirector) from within Summation
- Review
synchronized video depositions in DepositionDirector while searching
and reviewing a transcript in Summation, and automatically make
video clips of corresponding highlighted testimony
- Easily
exchange image information from one program to the other, maintaining
all document integrity and image table data
- Launch
TrialDirector while conducting searches in Summation, so documentary
evidence can be presented on the fly (during cross-examination,
for example)

Link
to Verdict Systems Sanction II
Users of Summation Blaze LG and Sanction II will appreciate the
following cross-functionality:
- Add
and display documents in Sanction II directly from Blaze LG
- Display
items directly in Sanction II's presentation mode from Blaze
LG
(can also be used in a dual monitor environment where Blaze
LG is running on control monitor and Sanction is running on
the display monitor or projector)
- Add
existing Blaze LG transcripts to Sanction II individually or
in batch; synchronize the court reporters transcript to a digital
video file using Sanction's video-to-text synchronization capabilities.
- Create
media clips directly from Blaze LG using Sanction II's new Video
Viewer
- Import
Blaze LG summary fields directly into Sanction II coding fields

Link
to IPRO & IPRO SCAN
- IPRO
has created a link from its image viewer, IPRO View, to Summation
LG Products. The link permits Blaze LG users to use IPRO to
view and annotate document images.
- IPRO
SCAN products will now create a DII load file for Summation;
this will facilitate the loading of document images into a Summation
database.
- Extensive
development is underway to apply the IPRO image server to Summation
images for Summation's web-based products.
- Summation
Blaze LG Gold and iBlaze® will integrate with IPRO's new
EDD product to take electronic documents and batch load them
into Summation using am image format that can be redacted and
numbered for productions, court proceedings, etc.

Link
to CaseSoft's CaseMap 3.5 and TimeMap2*
CaseSoft
reports that it recently completed a new program that links CaseMap
and Summation Blaze LG programs. The application will be available
for no charge at www.casesoft.com. Users of Summation Blaze LG
and CaseMap will have the following functionality as a result
of the integration:
- Users
can connect information in CaseMap to text and images stored
in Summation
- The
CaseMap/Summation Linker adds "Send to CaseMap" functionality;
as transcripts or OCR text are reviewed in Summation, portions
of text can be sent to CaseMap as a new fact. The fact is linked
back to the source of the fact in Summation, which can be opened
with a mouse click.
- TimeMap2
chronology-mapping program imports key document data from Summation.
