Summation Most Used Lit Support Tool In LawNet Survey

LawNet's Technology Survey identifies Summation as #1 for the 5th consecutive year

San Francisco, CA - November 8, 2004 - LawNet, an independent, volunteer network of technology users that includes over 850 major law firms, has released its 2004 Technology Survey. Results show that Summation software, from Summation Legal Technologies, Inc., is by far the most used litigation support software. This is the fifth consecutive year that Summation has been indicated the most used litigation tool by LawNet's survey, with total law firm usage at 70%. Summation was also indicated as the #1 software for transcript management for the 3rd consecutive year.

The survey records responses overall and also according to firm size, specifically, to the number of users in each firm (including paralegals and other support staff). Summation was the most indicated litigation software overall and also in each category, as follows:

• Very Large (over 500 users) - 77% of users indicated Summation
• Large firms (251-500 users) - 86% of users indicated Summation
• Medium firms (151-250 users) - 80% of users indicated Summation
• Small firms (1-150 users) - 51% of users indicated Summation

This year's survey had 446 respondents, representing firms with attorney counts ranging from seven into the thousands. Over 84,000 attorneys and 198,000 total end users are represented by the data.
